Who we are
The Nottingham Chamber Singers – NCS for short – is the auditioned chamber choir and semi-chorus of the Nottingham based charity Music for Everyone (MfE).
We combine the intimacy of a cappella and accompanied performances in smaller venues with the concert hall thrill of large-scale works, international soloists and a professional orchestra. Most of our concerts take place in or around Nottinghamshire.
Our style
We’re friendly, versatile, adventurous and accomplished. To maintain our well-blended sound, we aim for 30-40 singers.
Repertoire
Classical and wide-ranging, sacred and secular – from Byrd and Bach to Gershwin and Whitacre. While we enjoy the traditional canon of choral music, we like to take on modern and challenging styles and test our language skills at times! Solo opportunities are on offer in some of our programmes.
